About
Ah! Another new blogger…but not really. I’m Lynn, and I’ve been blogging for about three years, but the truth is, I’ve only managed to write about a hundred or so posts on a few distinctly different blogs. That’s about one post every eleven days or so. I won’t say under what topics or where, because one is personal and the others are mediocre, and none would make good fodder for this particular blog.
How hard would it be to figure out exactly why I haven’t posted more often on my other blogs? Not that hard, I would say. I’m a true procrastinator at heart.
That’s why I’ve started this blog. I hope I can gather together all the tips and tricks I’ve come up with or come across to help me battle the bulge of to-dos that I need to get done–tips that might come in handy for others. People like me.
Is that you? Maybe we can be friends.
A few years ago I implemented the whole Getting Things Done system David Allen is so sure will work for everyone, but I found a distinct lack of DO in my armory.
So what’s my successful outcome for this blog project?
A healthy new network of friends made up of people like me–people who believe their procrastinating ways are holding them back, and who desperately want to find a way out of the procrastination pit they’ve dug for themselves. A new life of making things happen by doing things now, one to-do at a time.
I intend to post weekly, and we’ll see how long it takes me to procrastinate my way to success. (Or procrastinate my way out of this blog…)
Update: I haven’t forgotten this blog. In point of fact, I think of it quite guiltily every week when I remember that weekly post I’m supposed to put up. I am making efforts at self-improvement, but I have yet to conquer procrastination!
I think the time has come to truly try to get a handle on teaching myself not to put things off with quite as much alacrity. If you too are ready to take steps to stop procrastination, why don’t you share my journey?
